Dermal Fillers / Hyaluronic Acid Fillers

Cosmetic Procedures

Overview

A very popular treatment for filling soft tissue in the face and neck, hyaluronic acid fillers reduce visible signs of aging in the face. Hyaluronic acid is a substance which occurs naturally in the skin. It both attracts and holds moisture which replenishes and plumps skin from the inside for a brighter, more youthful look.

Juvéderm®

Juvéderm® is a safe, effective dermal filler manufactured by Lea Derm which, when administered by a physician can diminish the appearance of wrinkles. It has been proven to last up to a full year with a single treatment. It replaces the hyaluronic acid which skin loses naturally over time, leading to more voluminous, smoother skin. It is made with Hylacross technology for a smooth gel and, to improve comfort, is infused with lidocaine.

Juvéderm® Ultra XC adds more fullness and plumps thin lips—whether your lips have thinned over time or you simply want fuller lips.

Juvéderm® VOLBELLA® XC is the most recent addition to the collection—tailored to add subtle volume to the lips and smooth the appearance of vertical lip lines.

Juvéderm® VOLUMA® XC adds volume to correct age-related volume loss in the cheeks to help create a more youthful appearance.

Risks

Risks with this type of treatment are minimal. Patients commonly report bruising at injection site, redness, itching skin, or slight pain. All of these symptoms dissipate within hours or days after treatment. On rare occasions, allergic reactions or infections may take place. For a full list of risks associated with hyaluronic acid fillers, consult a dermatologist.
